Conquered by the Spanish Hernando Santana, the city was originally called City of Los Santos Reyes Cacique Upar Valley, a title that is synthesized under the name of Valledupar. Gastronomy

Balneario El Salto: located in La Junta, judges of the municipality of San Juan del Cesar, is a channel of approximately 1.5 m wide and 8 m deep and 10 m long, sculpted by nature in a rock mass in the river bed of Santo Tomas.
